Adaptive Sports—Get Involved!

Are you looking to attain some great life skills, exercise, friend making and fun this summer?

Adaptive sports are a great way to do just that!

Our owner, Jay Johnson, a former wheelchair rugby player, loves getting involved with athletic events, especially involving paraplegics, wheelchair sports, etc. He is always looking to reach out to teams, athletes, and clubs locally and nationwide.

Some sports to get involved in include:

· Archery

· Powerlifting

· Hand-cycling

· Rugby

· Basketball

· Table Tennis

· Track and Field

· Softball

· Football

Wheelchair athletics in the United States have been around since the mid 1950’s. This is when the National Wheelchair Athletic Association, now known as the Wheelchair & Ambulatory Sports, USA or WSUSA, organized. There are countless national and international leagues that promote wheelchair bound athletes and sports.

At HealthNorth, part of our mission is to help you live more fulfilling lives. So if you know of a team or athlete of interest, let us know, we would love to reach out!
