Safety in the Shower

Here are a few tips for keeping your shower safe and decreasing the risk of shower injuries. There are a few items you can install to ensure your safety from slippery falls!

Grab Bars:

These are convenient in slippery tub and shower areas. Grab bars can be installed vertically or horizontally to meet your needs. These will be able to help steady you in case of a fall.

Floor Mats and Shower Treads:

The shower floor can become very slippery and difficult to stand firmly on. If safety treads are placed all along the tub floor it will become a lower risk zone for slipping and falling. You can also place non-skid rubber backed floor mats outside the shower for extra precaution. When stepping out, the mat will not slip from underneath you.

Bath Benches and Chairs:

Bath benches and chairs allow an individual to shower and bathe in comfort. These are especially great for people with limited mobility. Chairs and benches with holes will let the water drain and make the chair less slippery.
